Job summary

CMS Controls Atlanta is seeking an Applications Engineer to serve as the technical bridge between sales, estimating, and field execution on BAS projects in Marietta, GA. The role combines design authority with hands-on estimation and documentation to ensure bid accuracy and install readiness.

Ideally you have 3–7 years in HVAC controls, familiarity with Niagara N4 and Distech, plus BACnet/open-protocol integration.

Qualifications

3–7 years of experience in HVAC controls or related applications engineering roles.
Working knowledge of DDC programming and BAS design; Niagara N4 and Distech experience preferred.
Familiarity with BACnet and open-protocol integration concepts.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and sequences of operation.
Estimating experience with take-offs and pricing from bid documents.
Strong written and verbal communication; able to work with sales, clients, and field teams.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in mechanical/electrical engineering; Niagara N4 cert a plus.

Responsibilities

Review specifications, drawings, and RFQs to develop scope, take-offs, and cost estimates.
Design BAS solutions including network architecture and panel layouts.
Select applications and products to meet technical and budget requirements.
Prepare BOMs, documentation, and as-built drawings for handoff.
Support proposals with technical input and respond to RFQ questions.
Coordinate with account managers and project execution on handoffs.
