Job summary

The Sunset Marquis Hotel in West Hollywood is seeking a bartender to greet guests, craft drinks to recipes, upsell, and ensure accurate cash handling. You will maintain Bar1200 setups and uphold liquor regulations while delivering friendly, prompt service.

Candidates should have high school diploma or GED, relevant certifications (TIPS, RBS) and English proficiency, with flexibility for all shifts, including weekends and holidays. This role offers tips in addition to hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED, or related experience.
• Experience in high-volume, fast-paced environments preferred.
• Must have Food Handlers card, TIPS and RBS certifications.
• Proficient in English, verbal and written.
• Flexible availability including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Follow recipes to make and serve a wide variety of mixed drinks.
• Adhere to cash handling and credit policies and procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of state liquor regulations, including minors and intoxicated persons.
• Set up Bar1200; complete pre-opening, opening, and closing side work.
• Check identifications to verify legal age (21).
• Cross-train in other F&B areas.

Job Summary

The Bartender is responsible for greeting guests, making and serving beverages, upselling, and ensuring proper cash handling and credit procedures, while exceeding guest expectations by providing friendly, prompt, and attentive service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Properly follow recipes to make and serve a wide variety of mixed drinks using an extensive range of ingredients.
• Adhere to all cash handling and credit policies and procedures.
• Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons, and drunk driving.
• Properly and thoroughly set-up all areas of Bar1200; perform all pre-opening, opening, and closing side work duties during shift (e.g. ensure that floor drains are clear of debris).
• Check identification to verify legal age (21) requirements for all guests.
• Must be able to cross-train in other F&B related areas.

Requirements

Essential Skills, Experience, and Education include:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 3-4 year's related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High volume, fast-paced work environment experience preferred.
• Microps POS system experience is a plus.
• Food Handlers card is required.
• Training for Intervention Procedures (TIPS) Certification is required.
• Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification is required.
• Proficient in English- verbal and written.
• Must have flexible work availability- all shifts, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements include:

• Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Salary Range: $20.87 + tips
