Job summary

Hollywood Gaming Mahoning Valley Race Course is hiring a bartender to create a welcoming, high-energy guest experience. You will mix drinks, serve customers, handle cash and cards, and assist servers during busy shifts.

Responsibilities include promoting events, maintaining a clean work area, and adhering to all safety and licensing requirements. Open availability across shifts, including weekends and holidays, is expected.

• Ensure interactions with internal and external guests follow the guidelines of the ACES Service Program.
• Monitor guest consumption of alcohol and intervene as needed according to company policy and T.I.P.S training.
• Promote gaming events and promotions.
• Process cash and credit card transactions for guests while maintaining the integrity of all financial controls and responsibilities.
• Prepare and pour drinks with proper measured portions, following proper building steps, and ingredients according to recipe and in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Preparing and maintaining par levels on garnishes, various ice, mixers and fresh fruit and herbs.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized and stocked workstation and or section.
• Comply with state, company, and department policies and regulations.
• Must have open availability including all three shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Responsible for making servers drinks when rang in.
• Serve tables, clear tables, expedite food and running food.
• Side-work as directed by the Food and Beverage Supervisor or Manager.
• Will work special events, as needed.

Education and/or Experience:

Must have one-year cumulative experience as a bartender, bar back or server or have completed bartending school and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability:

Be able to make quick, reasonable decisions regarding patron and team member interactions.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations

Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
