Job summary

Cowlitz Indian Tribe is seeking an experienced bartender to provide world-class guest service in our restaurant, taking drink orders, serving beverages, and handling payments at the bar. You will help ensure a positive guest experience while maintaining compliance with liquor laws.

Responsibilities include setting up and breaking down the bar, applying recipes and standards, and supporting a safe, sanitary work environment. Flexibility with shifts is required in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Previous bartending experience in a high-volume environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to foster a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Take drink orders and serve alcohol and nonalcoholic beverages.
• Use POS terminal and handle payments.
• Maintain sanitation and safety in the bar area.
• Follow state liquor laws including ID checks and refusal of service when needed.
• Provide friendly, attentive guest service to ensure a positive experience.

Position Summary:

Provides world class guest service in our restaurants, taking drink orders, serving alcohol and nonalcoholic beverages to guests, and taking payment for purchases.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Promotes superior guest service.
• Maintains, and perpetuates a positive organizational culture according to the principles of the Spirit of Tâlícn and the Core Values of ilani.
• Interacting with our guests to ensure they have a positive experience.
• Fills drink order per the restaurant recipes and standards.
• Uses point of sale terminal and completes other cashiering functions.
• Consistently applies knowledge of state liquor laws including proper identification procedures, monitoring levels of intoxication, intervention strategies, refusal of service, and shutoff procedures.
• Sets up and breaks down assigned bar in accordance with department policies and procedures.
• Responsible for the handling all payment methods.
• Maintains sanitation and safety standards in assigned work area.
• Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma / GED; Recognized Equivalent of a High School Diploma (RED) or Foreign High School Diploma (FHD).
• Previous bartending experience in a high-volume environment.
• Must possess excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to foster a supportive and enabling team environment.
• Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours.
• Must be willing to work in a smoking environment.
• Must be willing to adhere to company health and safety measures.
