Job summary

Flying Horse Resort & Club in Colorado Springs seeks an experienced bartender to deliver exceptional service in a fast-paced, upscale dining environment.

You will craft cocktails and wines, guide guests through menu pairings, and ensure accurate orders while maintaining a spotless bar and dining area.

Qualifications

• Two years upscale dining restaurant experience preferred.
• Detail oriented, accurate and organized with multitasking ability.
• Must possess customer service skills and strong oral communication.
• Ability to work effectively under time deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests, determine beverage preferences, recommend drinks.
• Take drink orders, check IDs and ensure legal drinking age.
• Prepare and serve cocktails, wine, and beverages with garnishes.
• Describe wines and menus; answer questions about pairings.
• Transmit orders to kitchen and note dietary needs.
• Maintain bar and dining area; wash glasses and utensils.
• Handle cash/credit transactions and balance the register.
• Assist with inventory and notify management of stock needs.
• Follow sanitation, safety and alcohol policies.

Being fast and accurate is vital to keeping up with our fast-paced environment.Welcoming Guests, reading and listening to people to determine beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking drink ordersChecking identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcoholSelecting & mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to GuestsProperly describe, open and pour wine while guest-facingAssist Guests in selecting food and beverages by suggesting courses, explaining the menu & chef's specialties, identifying appropriate wines & answering food & drink preparation questionsTransmit orders to the kitchen by recording patrons' choices; identifying patrons' special dietary needs and special requestsStay updated on current menu choices, specialties, menu deviations & knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items, etc.Assisting with inventory when needed and alerting management of supplies needed to ensure bar and tables are well-stockedHandling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash registerMaintaining a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning tables, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipmentPerform basic side-work as needed or directed by managementProtect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety and alcohol beverage control policiesKeep kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progressionQUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:A minimum of two years of restaurant experience in upscale dining is preferred. Must be detail oriented, accurate and possess good organizational abilities and be capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.ADDITIONAL NOTES:Must possess customer service skills and strong oral communication skills. Competency in dealing with members and fellow employees under circumstances requiring tact and diplomacy.
