Responsibilities

• Welcomes guests, reads and listens to preferences, makes recommendations and takes drink orders.
• Checks identification to ensure legal age to purchase alcohol.
• Selects and mixes ingredients, garnishes, and serves beverages to guests.
• Describes, opens and pours wine with guest interaction.
• Assists guests in selecting food and beverages, explains menu and chef specials.
• Transmits orders to the kitchen and notes dietary needs and requests.
• Stays updated on current menu items and kitchen stock levels.
• Helps with inventory and ensures bar and tables are well stocked.
• Handles cash, credit, and debit transactions and balances the cash register.
• Maintains a clean work and dining area; performs side-work as directed.
• Follows sanitation, safety and alcohol beverage control policies.

Salary Range: $12.14 - $15.16 Hourly

This position pays hourly wage plus applicable gratuities and/or service charge distribution in accordance with company policy.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Must have extensive knowledge in cocktails, wines and spirits, food knowledge and safety. Being fast and accurate is vital to keeping up with our fast-paced environment.

• Welcoming Guests, reading and listening to people to determine beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking drink orders
• Checking identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol
• Selecting & mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to guests
• Properly describe, open and pour wine while guest-facing
• Assist guests in selecting food and beverages by suggesting courses, explaining the menu & chef's specialties, identifying appropriate wines & answering food & drink preparation questions
• Transmit orders to the kitchen by recording patrons' choices; identifying patrons' special dietary needs and special requests
• Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties, menu deviations & knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items, etc.
• Assisting with inventory when needed and alerting management of supplies needed to ensure bar and tables are well-stocked
• Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register
• Maintaining a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning tables, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment
• Perform basic side-work as needed or directed by management
• Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety and alcohol beverage control policies
• Keep kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progression

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

A minimum of two years of restaurant experience in upscale dining is preferred. Must be detail oriented, accurate and possess good organizational abilities and be capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

Must possess customer service skills and strong oral communication skills. Competency in dealing with members and fellow employees under circumstances requiring tact and diplomacy. Must possess the ability to work effectively under time deadlines.

Under the Colorado Healthy Families and Workplaces Act (HFWA), employees accrue one hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to 48 hours per year. Other legally required benefits, such as workers' compensation and unemployment insurance, also apply. Additionally, we provide a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match. All benefits are subject to the terms of the applicable plan documents, including eligibility requirements and waiting periods, as required by law.
