Job summary

King Kamehameha Kona Beach Resort Courtyard by Marriott is seeking a talented Full Time Banquet Bartender to deliver exceptional guest service and aloha spirit on Hawaiʻi island. You will handle bar duties, craft beverages, set up and stock the bar, and maintain a pristine work area in a high-volume resort setting.

Responsibilities include friendly guest interaction, proper cash handling, accurate order processing, and assisting the F&B team with occasional stocking and closing tasks.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old to apply.
• Minimum 1 year bartending or related experience in a full-service restaurant or hotel F&B outlet.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Micros knowledge preferred.
• TB clearance card required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times while serving guests.
• Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.
• Take orders, make recommendations, and upsell beverages.
• Prepare and serve beverages and manage bar setup.
• Responsible for designated section and accurately collecting and completing payment for orders.
• Process all cash and card transactions according to house policies.
• Stock side station with garnishments, bar mats, mixers, ice and jiggers.
• Assist Food and Beverage Manager with stocking beverages and mixes.
• Stock beverages and mixes for next shifts.
• Close checks and run end-of-shift reports.
• Maintain clean bar tables, chairs, and counter surfaces.
• Adhere to food safety standards.
• Report missing/found articles or equipment/property damage to Housekeeping.

Brief Summary of Job: Responsible for all aspects of the bar area, including courteously and efficiently waiting on guests while crafting and serving beverages, setting up and stocking product for shifts, maintaining storage areas, and cleaning, sanitizing and maintaining equipment, utensils and tools.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to:

Knowledge/Education/Experience: Must meet minimum age for preparing and serving alcoholic beverages. Minimum one (1) year of bartending or related experience in a full-service restaurant or Hotel F&B outlet required. High school or equivalent education. Micros knowledge preferred. Ability to operate a computerized point of sale system (Micros). TB clearance card required.

Skills/Abilities/Other Requirements : English speaking or bilingual. Operate cash register. Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations. Ability to prioritize, organize and make good judgments. Dependable.
