Job summary

King Kamehameha Kona Beach Resort Courtyard by Marriott in Hawaii seeks a Full Time Server to share the aloha spirit and provide a memorable guest experience. You will set tables, take and serve orders, and ensure accurate billing while maintaining a clean dining area.

The role requires at least one year of server experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to operate a computerized POS system. TB clearance is required.

Responsibilities

Rate of Pay: $16/hour plus gratuity

Opportunity Awaits on the beautiful Island of Hawaii... King Kamehameha Kona Beach Resort Courtyard by Marriott currently has an opening for a talented Full Time Server to share the aloha spirit and strive to create a memorable guest experience.

Brief Summary of Job: Responsible for proper setting of tables; taking, retrieving and serving food orders and alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages to guest tables; and totals bills and accepts payment. Maintain cleanliness and condition of the work areas and equipment.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to:

• Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to guests.
• Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.
• Assist with meal set-up and set or pre-set tables in dining room as assigned.
• Courteously wait on guests, make recommendations, up sell.
• Take orders for food/meals and beverages.
• Professionally serve food and beverages, check-in with and monitor guests’ experience throughout their visit to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Observe guests to fulfill any additional requests and to perceive when meal has been completed.
• May assist in keeping supplies stocked at work station.
• Assist with cleaning dining area. Wipe down and reset the table for the next guests.
• Adhere to food safety requirements and applicable liquor laws.
• Total bill and accept payment.
• Assist bussers in routine service when necessary.
• Report any missing/found articles, or damage to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
• Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department, restaurant and hotel.
• Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.

Requirements Knowledge/Education/Experience: One (1) year experience as a server is required. High school or equivalent education. Ability to operate a computerized point of sale system. TB clearance card required.

Skills/Abilities/Other Requirements: Must be able to communicate in English with guests, management and team members to their understanding. Ability to provide legible written communications. Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations. Ability to prioritize, organize and make good judgments. Dependable.
