Job summary

King Kamehameha Kona Beach Resort Courtyard by Marriott in Hawaii is hiring a Full Time Kitchen Utility Person to support our culinary team. Rate of pay is $21.73 per hour and experience in hotel food service is preferred.

You will perform general cleaning, assist with food storage and transfer items to banquet and luau areas, and help maintain sanitary conditions of china, glassware, and utensils. English speaking or bilingual candidates are welcome.

Qualifications

• One year of experience preferred in hotel or food service.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• TB clearance card required.
• English speaking or bilingual.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to hotel guests.
• Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.
• Responsible for all activities pertaining to cleaning and maintaining the food & beverage storage, preparation and service areas and materials and ensures sanitary condition of all china, glassware, silverware, and cookware and serving utensils.
• Assists with proper food storage and rotation.
• Transfers food items and required dishes to banquet and luau areas and guest plates.
• Performs routine tasks under little or no direct supervision.
• Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and hotel.
• Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.

Requirements Knowledge/Education/Experience: One (1) year experience preferred. High school or equivalent education. TB clearance card required.
