Job summary

Pacific Catch in San Diego is seeking a part-time bartender who delivers first-class service and hospitality to every Guest. You will present drink menus, make recommendations, up-sell when possible, and ensure timely, accurate ordering and payment processing at the bar.

Under General Manager supervision, you will maintain bar cleanliness, manage inventory, and support the restaurant's guest experience with knowledge of cocktails, beer, and wine. Weekend availability is a must.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Knowledge of cocktails, beer, and wine, including recipes, history, base ingredients, and jiggers.
• Minimum 1-year experience in restaurant/customer service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take orders; promptly serve food and drink; check in with Guests regarding their experience; up-sell when possible.
• Record drink or food orders accurately into POS; process Guest payments and give correct change.
• Fill in as a server as directed to ensure smooth restaurant operation
• Maintain inventory and bar supplies; assist in restocking and replenishing
• Ensure bar area cleanliness; keep bottles and glasses organized and presentable; wash and sterilize glassware as needed.

SCHEDULE

This is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt position. Hours may be different every week and schedules are not set or guaranteed. Weekend availability is a must.

COMPENSATION

$17.75 Per Hour

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Knowledge of cocktails, beer, and wine, including recipes, history, base ingredients, and jiggers
• Ensure a good Guest experience--present drink menu, make recommendations, and answer questions regarding food and beverages; take orders; promptly serve food and drink, and check in with Guests regarding their experience; up-sell whenever possible
• Record drink or food orders accurately and immediately after receipt into POS; Accept and process Guest payment and make the correct change as applicable.
• Fill in as a server as directed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Restaurant
• Maintain inventory and bar supplies; assist in restocking and replenishing
• Ensure the cleanliness of the bar area (counters, tables, equipment, floors, etc.) always
• Maintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages. Wash and sterilize glassware as needed

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

• High school education is required; Hospitality or other degrees are a plus
• Minimum 1-year experience in the restaurant/customer service industry preferred

PHYSICAL

• Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to 5 hours in length
• Must be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 35 pounds
