PT Bartender

The Hilton Richmond Hotel & Spa/Short Pump is seeking bartenders with a flair for hospitality to work with us as we launch our exciting new Shula's American Kitchen.

The Hilton Richmond Hotel & Spa/Short Pump is a flagship property of Shamin Hotels, Central Virginia's largest hotel management company. We have tripled in size to 78 full- and select-service hotels over the past ten years and own and operate hotels under the Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott, InterContinental and Choice flags.

This position will start as part-time but has the potential to grow into full-time especially for those interested in work shifts as a server or barista. In the meantime, it will be a great opportunity for someone looking to pick up extra hours during the week and for those looking to get a foot in the door with leading hospitality brands in Central Virginia.

Job Duties:

  • Set up bar with supplies and product prior to opening to ensure a smooth flow of service and the correct display of products.
  • Provide immediate attention to all guests upon seating and provide service that meets the standards of Shula’s Steakhouse and the Hilton Hotels.
  • Receive and prepare drink orders from guests and servers using standard pours and recipes and ensuring accuracy of order.
  • Enter orders into POS system and settle payments accurately.
  • Close down the bar, making sure inventory is locked and secure, bar cleaned and sanitized and supplies put away.
  • Assists servers with serving food and beverages when necessary.
  • Place food orders with the kitchen, informing cooks about special instructions.
  • Clear and reset tables when the guests have left the restaurant.
  • Keep bar, tables, dining room and bus station areas clean at all times.
  • Resolve guest issues and advise supervisor of complaints as they occur.
  • Perform clean-up and closing duties as assigned by manager
  • Attend pre-shift line-up as requested by Supervisors.
  • Ensure high standards of health and safety are maintained at all times.

The ideal candidate will enjoy interacting with our guests and team members, display a friendly and positive attitude and enjoy providing excellent hospitality! In addition, the position has the following requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bartending and other customer service experience is required
  • Capability to effectively communicate with guests and team members.
  • Flexibility to work various schedules as business demands including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Gain TIPS on-premise server certification within 3 months of acquiring the job
