Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve cocktails, wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverages according to CCV recipes and standards.
  • Execute drink orders quickly and accurately for bar guests and service tickets.
  • Greet members and guests warmly and develop relationships with regulars.
  • Learn member preferences and personalize experiences.

  • Maintain organized, stocked bar during service and assist with inventory.

This position requires a genuine love of hospitality, food and beverage, along with strong cocktail skills, wine knowledge, and the ability to deliver efficient, accurate service in a busy environment.

Our bartenders are expected to know what they are serving and be able to talk about it—whether recommending a wine with dinner, describing a featured cocktail, suggesting a spirit or helping a member discover something new. Just as importantly, they must be able to deliver that experience with warmth and personality while maintaining the speed and consistency expected in a busy Club environment.

Experience & Qualifications
  • 2-3 years of previous bartending experience required; high-volume restaurant, hotel or private club experience a plus
  • Strong working knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, spirits, beer and wine
  • Comfortable discussing wine varietals, regions, styles and basic food and wine pairings
  • Genuine interest in food and the ability to speak confidently about menus, ingredients and pairings
  • Strong sense of urgency with the ability to manage multiple drink orders while maintaining quality and attention to detail
  • Experience with a restaurant POS system preferred

  • Professionalism: Maintains composure, positive body language and a professional presence even during high-volume or challenging situations
  • Continuous Learning: Participates in tastings, pre-shifts and beverage education and demonstrates curiosity about wine, spirits, cocktails and food
  • Prepares the bar for service, including stocking wine, beer, spirits, glassware, ice, garnishes and other supplies
  • Prepares and serves cocktails, wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverages according to CCV recipes and standards
  • Executes drink orders quickly and accurately for both bar guests and service tickets
  • Greets members and guests warmly and develops relationships with regular users of the outlet
  • Learns member preferences and uses that knowledge to personalize the experience
  • Provides thoughtful recommendations based on member preferences, menu selections and occasion
  • Presents, opens and serves wine properly and confidently
  • Maintains current knowledge of the outlet's food menu, ingredients, specials and appropriate beverage pairings
  • Communicates effectively with servers and culinary teams to support an efficient and well-paced dining experience
  • Maintains an organized, clean and fully stocked bar throughout service—not just at opening and closing
  • Accurately rings all beverages and follows CCV procedures for member accounts, checks and POS transactions
  • Assists with monthly inventory
  • Minimizes waste and properly records spills, breakage and complimentary beverages
  • Monitors inventory levels and communicates shortages or product needs to management
  • Follows proper opening and closing procedures, including securing alcoholic beverages
  • Consistently follows Virginia ABC requirements and CCV policies regarding identification and responsible alcohol service
  • Attends pre-shifts, staff meetings, tastings, and training sessions
  • Performs other duties as assigned
