Job summary

The Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC MN) invites you to join Plaza del Sol in Saint Paul, MN as a Bartender. You’ll craft cocktails, engage guests, and help create a vibrant, welcoming food hall where culture and community thrive.

In this part-time, non-exempt role, you’ll work with vendors and staff to ensure high-energy service, uphold LEDC MN’s values of respect and inclusion, and help deliver an exceptional guest experience on every shift.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year bartending or beverage service experience in a restaurant, bar, food hall, or similar setting.
• Minnesota alcohol server certification (TIPS, ServSafe Alcohol, or equivalent) or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Working knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktail preparation and responsible service practices.
• Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic cash-handling procedures.
• Strong customer service and communication skills; ability to engage positively with a diverse guest base.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes and guest preferences.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar station; ensure proper handling, labeling, and storage of all beverage inventory.
• Greet and engage guests with a friendly, professional attitude that reflects the welcoming culture of Plaza del Sol.
• Monitor guest alcohol consumption and practice responsible beverage service in compliance with Minnesota liquor laws and LEDC MN policies.
• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately; process cash and card transactions and reconcile the drawer at the end of each shift.
• Track bar inventory, identify low-stock needs, and communicate supply requirements to the Bar Manager in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with food hall vendors, kitchen staff, and event coordinators to ensure seamless service during peak hours and special events.
• Comply with all applicable health, safety, and sanitation standards; maintain current food handler certification and complete alcohol service compliance training.
• Perform opening and closing duties, including equipment checks, cleaning, and restocking the bar area.
• Support a positive team environment by communicating proactively, assisting colleagues, and participating in staff meetings and training sessions.
