Job description

BARTENDER

Our bartenders are responsible for packing, loading, and setting up mobile bar service for events, providing bartending service for our concessions contracts, checking for proper legal identification before serving alcoholic beverages, preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for guests in accordance with Chowgirls Catering’s policies and standards, and breaking down, loading out & cleaning per Chowgirls training, standards, and procedures. Bartenders are responsible for compliance with all federal, state, and city liquor laws and internal policies. This position reports to the Beverage Program Manager.

JOB DUTIES:

1. Prepares alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for patrons
2. Properly measures wine, spirit, and batch pours and follows cocktail recipes
3. Works well in a team, and individually, at events and concessions
4. Provides prompt and courteous service to all guests while maintaining a respectful and positive disposition
5. Maintains professional standards of appearance, attendance, and punctuality
6. Loads and unloads event equipment/food at Chowgirls Headquarters before and after event execution
7. Able to follow instructions given by managers
8. Displays confidence in carrying trays, plates, glassware, and more
9. Prioritizes tasks, remains focused, and works independently and collaboratively
10. Email access and literacy are necessary
11. Thrives in a fast-paced environment
12. Ability to lift 40 lbs. or more and stand for long periods
13. Access to reliable transportation is required; a valid driver’s license is preferred but not required
14. Must be at least 21 years of age

SCHEDULE EXPECTATIONS:

• This job requires scheduling flexibility to align with the seasonal event schedule, especially from May to December, including long hours, irregular shifts, weekends, and holidays.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience bartending or bar-backing required
• 1 year of bartending experience preferred
• Event bartending experience preferred
• Must be 21 years of age
• Knowledge of popular cocktails, wine, and beer basics
• Familiarity with current liquor liability laws
• Ability to handle high-volume beverage sales and preparation
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent customer service skills and passion for hospitality
• Ability to work up to 12 hours on your feet and lift 40 lbs
