Norway House is a vibrant cultural center connecting contemporary Norway and the United States through art, business, and culture. Located in the heart of Minneapolis, we host exhibitions, events, language classes, and programs year-round. At the heart of our gathering space is the Kaffebar , our cozy, Scandinavian-inspired café that offers guests the chance to relax, connect, and enjoy high-quality coffee and food.

With our new and improved menu , we’re growing—and we’re looking for dedicated, personable, and proactive team members to join our Kaffebar staff!

• Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including specialty coffee and tea
• Prepare and serve food items from our Scandinavian-inspired menu
• Maintain a clean, welcoming, and organized workspace (including seating areas)
• Greet customers, take orders, and handle transactions accurately
• Ensure consistency in food and beverage quality and presentation
• Assist with opening/closing duties, including inventory and restocking
• Deliver excellent customer service in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Bartender (as needed for special events):

• Set up and work events requiring alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverage service (beer and wine only)
• Stock bar area and concessions, prepare light snacks or food for sale
• Serve drinks and interact with guests in a friendly, professional manner
• Check IDs and comply with all alcohol and safety regulations
• Support with event setup and breakdown, including cleaning, resetting space, and trash/recycling

Qualifications:

• Experience in café, events, or hospitality environments
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
• Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 15 lbs
• Availability for a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
• Reliable team player with a proactive attitude
• Accurate with cash and credit card handling
• Strong time management and multitasking skills
• Commitment to high-quality service and attention to detail
