Esplanade at Madeira Ranch, Elk Grove’s premier 55+ resort-style community, is seeking a Bartender to join Barrel House Bistro under Troon. The role focuses on preparing and serving beverages, building relationships with residents, and contributing to a welcoming atmosphere.

The ideal candidate has hospitality experience, strong knowledge of wine, spirits and cocktails, and a commitment to safety and service standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• ServSafe or TIPS certification preferred.
• Fluent in English speaking, writing and understanding.

Responsibilities

• Stocks bar, mixes and serves alcoholic beverages; assists in cost control and inventory.
• Assists in creating seasonal cocktails and updating the menu.
• Maintains inventory records and communicates supply needs to management.
• Ensures compliance with state liquor laws and company SOPs.
• Performs opening/closing duties, cash handling and POS transactions.
• Serves meals to guests as needed and supports banquet events.

General Purpose:
We are Esplanade at Madeira Ranch, Elk Grove’s premier 55+ resort-style community, dedicated to creating an exceptional lifestyle experience for our members. Our restaurant, Barrel House Bistro, is at the heart of our community, serving as a gathering place where neighbors connect, celebrate, and enjoy outstanding food and beverage experiences.

We are seeking a passionate hospitality professional who is looking for a long-term role where they can truly make a difference in a community-focused service environment. This position offers the opportunity to build relationships with residents, contribute to a welcoming atmosphere, and help shape memorable experiences for our members.

Pay Range: $17.00 to $20.00 per hour (Depending of Experience)

• Stocks bar, mixes and serves alcoholic beverages, assists in cost control, inventory, and maintains inventory records
• Assists department leaders with creation of seasonal cocktails and development of menu
• Assists department leaders with social media schedule and creation of content
• Maintains inventory control through conscientious use and careful monitoring of all food and beverage products; communicates with management in a timely manner when supplies are needed
• Ensures compliance with applicable state liquor laws and standard operating procedures provided by management
• Communicates guest requests and concerns to the Department Manager
• Performs opening and closing duties, including inventory, cash control, cleaning, and restocking
• Accountable for checks and cash transactions; utilizes Point of Sales system
• Reviews banquet schedule for changes, calendar of events, and special events
• Serves catered parties from service or portable bars
• On occasion, serves meals to guests
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance
• Performs other duties as required
• High school diploma or GED; and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience in restaurant point-of-sale (POS) systems (e.g., POSITOUCH and MICROS)

Physical Demands:

• Frequently stands, walks, talks, hears, and uses hands. Regularly reaches with hands and arms. Occasionally climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls, crouches, tastes, smells, and sits. Frequently lifts up to 25 pounds. Occasionally may lift up to 50 pounds.

Certificates/Licenses:

• ServSafe Certified (Food & Alcohol) or TIPS equivalent

Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:

• Knowledge of wine, spirits, beer, and current industry trends
• Possesses knowledge of cocktail recipes
• Professional and courteous demeanor
• Demonstrates strong commitment to company values
