Job summary

Turtleback Mountain Golf and Resort in Elephant Butte, NM is seeking a driven Part-Time Bartender to join our hospitality-focused team. You will stock the bar, mix drinks, and help create seasonal cocktails while ensuring accuracy, safety, and excellent guest service.

Two years of bartending experience and knowledge of liquor, beer, and wine are preferred. Fluent English and a professional demeanor are essential for serving guests across events and everyday dining.

Responsibilities

  • Stock bar, mix and serve alcoholic beverages, assist in cost control and inventory records.
  • Assist in creation of seasonal cocktails and menu development.
  • Maintain inventory control and notify management when supplies are needed.
  • Ensure compliance with state liquor laws and operating procedures.
  • Communicate guest requests to Department Manager; perform opening/closing duties.
  • Handle checks and cash transactions using POS system; review banquet schedules.

Description

Turtleback Mountain Golf and Resort, located in Elephant Butte, NM, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Part-Time Bartender! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

General Purpose

Makes and serves guests delicious beverages in accordance with established standards and with hospitality and professionalism. Creates memorable dining experiences through personalized and genuine interactions.

  • Stock bar, mix and serve alcoholic beverages, assist in cost control, and maintain inventory records
  • Assist department leaders with the creation of seasonal cocktails and the development of the menu
  • Maintain inventory control through conscientious use and careful monitoring of all food and beverage products; communicate with management in a timely manner when supplies are needed
  • Ensure compliance with applicable state liquor laws and standard operating procedures provided by management
  • Communicate guest requests and concerns to the Department Manager
  • Perform opening and closing duties, which include, but are not limited to, inventory, cash control, cleaning, and restocking
  • Accountable for checks and cash transactions; utilize the Point-of-Sale system
  • Review banquet schedule for changes, special events, and calendar updates
  • Serve catered parties from service or portable bars
  • On occasion, serve meals to guests
  • Incorporate safe work practices in job performance
  • Regular and reliable attendance
  • Perform other duties as required

At least two years experience as well as knowledge of liquor beer and wine. Must be customer service driven have the ability to overcome stressful situations.

Preferred Requirements

Mixology experience helpful but not necessary

Physical Demands

Frequently stands, walks, talks, hears, and uses hands. Regularly reaches with hands and arms. Occasionally climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls, crouches, tastes, smells, and sits. Frequently lifts up to 25 pounds. Occasionally may lift up to 50 pounds.

Certificates/Licenses

ServSafe Certified (Food & Alcohol) or TIPS equivalent.

Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences

Knowledge of wine, spirits, beer, and current trends in the industry and marketplace

Knowledge of cocktail recipes

Professional and courteous demeanor

Demonstrates a strong commitment to company values

Exceptional personal hygiene and positive representation of the organization to Troon employees, clients, and vendors

Fluent in spoken, written, and comprehended English

Must meet state age requirements for handling alcoholic beverages
