Job summary

Madden's on Gull Lake is seeking a part-time bartender for the 2026 season in Brainerd, MN. You will set up banquet bars, prepare and serve beverages, and ensure guest safety and satisfaction while handling payments and POS operations.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, bartending experience, and knowledge of cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits. Flexible nights, weekends, and holidays are required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Set up and break down banquet bar stations according to event specifications.
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages efficiently.
• Ensures compliance with applicable state liquor laws and SOPs.
• Monitor guest alcohol consumption and practice responsible service.
• Follow all recipes, portion controls, and service standards.
• Verify guest age and comply with all alcohol service laws.
• Communicates guest requests and concerns to the Department Manager.
• Performs opening and closing duties including inventory, cash control and cleaning.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar during events.
• Accountable for checks, cash transactions, drink tickets and POS systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Set up and break down banquet bar stations according to event specifications.
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages efficiently.
• Ensures compliance with applicable state liquor laws and standard operating procedures provided by the management.
• Monitor guest alcohol consumption and practice responsible service.
• Follow all recipes, portion controls, and service standards.
• Verify guest age and comply with all alcohol service laws.
• Communicates guest requests and concerns to the Department Manager.
• Performs opening and closing duties which include, but are not limited to: inventory, cash control and cleaning.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar throughout events.
• Accountable for checks and cash transactions, drink tickets and POS systems as required.
• Utilizes Point of Sales System.
• Reviews banquet or dining room schedule for changes, calendar of events, and special events.
• Assist with inventory counts and restocking after events.
• Performs other duties as required.
• Reliable attendance.

Education/Experience

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not require any supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

Work is performed in multiple dining outlets.

Physical Demands

Primarily standing for prolonged periods of time. Must have the ability to stand, walk, talk/hear, both in person and by telephone, occasionally required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 40 pounds sometimes repeatedly.

Expected Hours of Work

Flexible schedule with nights, weekends and holidays.

Travel

Less than 10% travel required.
