Job summary

Delaware North at American Family Field is seeking friendly and experienced servers for the Barrel Yard Restaurant team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This is a tipped position where hourly pay does not include gratuities, with a focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences.

As a Server, you will greet guests, take orders, and serve food and beverages, including alcohol, in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.

Qualifications

• At least two years of experience as a server in a high-volume environment.
• Experience with credit card processing is required.
• Previous experience with a point-of-sale system in a service or hospitality environment is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Minimum 4 days availability (10am start times on weekdays and 3-5p start time on weeknights).
• Open on weekends.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests, provide menus, explain specials, answer questions, take orders, serve items, and attend to guests throughout their visit.
• Enter orders accurately into the POS system for kitchen and bar staff.
• Serve alcohol beverages responsibly and verify identification.
• Prepare and deliver checks, process payments.
• Collaborate with fellow servers and kitchen/bar staff.
• Perform opening/closing/cleaning and side duties as assigned.
• Ensure equipment/workspaces are clean, sanitized, and organized.
• Maintain punctuality, proper grooming, and uniform.

The opportunity

Delaware North Sportservice is hiring Servers to join our Barrel Yard Restaurant team at American Family Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As a Server, you will be the face of our restaurant and play a critical role in providing excellent service to our guests. Barrel Yard is a year round restaurant.

Please note this is a tipped position, the hourly minimum pay listed doesn’t include any potential tipped earnings.

Pay

$5.25 – $5.25 / hour

What will you do?

• Greets guests, provides menus, clearly communicates restaurant specials, answers questions about menu items, collects food and beverage orders, serves items ordered, and attends to guests need throughout their visit. Beer knowledge & etiquette a plus but not required.
• Accurately enters orders into point-of-sale system so that kitchen staff can prepare food and bar staff can prepare drinks, as needed.
• Serves alcohol beverages responsibly, requests identification, and adheres to all alcohol service policies and procedures.
• Prepares and delivers check to guests at table and accepts and processes payment.
• Collaborate with other restaurant servers and kitchen and bar staff.
• Performs opening, closing, cleaning, and side work duties, as assigned.
• Ensures all equipment and workspaces are clean, sanitized, organized, and working properly.
• Must be punctual, well-groomed and in proper uniform for all scheduled shifts.

More about you

• At least two years’ experience as a server in a high-volume environment.
• Experience in credit card processing required.
• Previous experience with a point-of-sale system in service or hospitality environment preferred
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Physical requirements

• Constant standing, walking, bending, reaching and repetitive motions.
• Ability to maneuver between tables and around corners.
• Ability to lift, balance and move large food trays, weighing up to 35 lbs.
• Visual acuity and hearing sufficient to take orders and prepare checks.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds for set-up, service and clean-up.
• Ability to stand or walk for entire length of shift; may include walking up and down stairs.
