Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Barista at Westminster University. The role focuses on providing exceptional customer service while crafting beverages and maintaining a clean, inviting coffee area.

You will greet guests, take orders, prepare drinks, and manage cash transactions as part of a team serving a campus community. Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED, prior customer service experience, knowledge of food safety, and possibly Starbucks certification depending on location.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Customer Service related work experience.
• Must have knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, standards, and inventory control systems.
• Starbucks Baristas may be required to be certified.

Responsibilities

• Greets all guests and provides quick, friendly, and personalized service.
• Mixes and serves hot and cold beverages such as coffee, espresso, cappuccino, café latte, tea, chai, fruit drinks, etc.
• Maintains good customer relations and speedy delivery of beverages and food items.
• Educates guests regarding menu offerings and initiates suggestive selling.
• Arranges coffee bar supplies and displays.
• Often cleans coffee machines, restaurant areas, and preparation areas.
• Records sales, handles cash, and operates a cash register.
• Ability to walk or stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
