Job summary

River City Casino & Hotel in St. Louis is seeking a Barista to join our guest-focused team. You will craft beverages, educate guests about our coffees and menu items, and ensure timely service with accuracy at the register.

You will prepare and serve espresso-based drinks, handle cash transactions, and maintain a clean, welcoming dining area. This role requires excellent customer service, reliability, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous cash handling experience a plus.
• Ability to communicate effectively; must read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Food & Beverage experience preferred.
• Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide).
• Starbucks/barista experience an asset.
• Flexible shift including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent guest service while making quality, hand-crafted beverages.
• Educates guests about our premium coffees, teas, gelatos, and menu items.
• Prepares and sells coffee drinks, such as espresso, café latte, and cappuccino, by following recipes and preparation techniques.
• Operates electronic cash register system to accurately and immediately account for transaction payments; transports monies to and from the main Credit cage.
• Delivers guest orders.
• Ensures guest satisfaction through food quality checks and responds to guest complaints.
• Maintains equipment by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, and performing cleaning and preventive maintenance.
• Ensures a fresh and appealing display by keeping cases, shelves, and displays clean and well stocked, while continuously checking and ensuring freshness and quality of products.
• Maintains a clean and welcoming dining room with attention to detail, sanitation, and safety.
• Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.
• Maintains strict confidentiality in all company matters.

As a Barista, you will:

Shift: 6am-2:30pm | Pay: $10.15 per hour plus tips

• Provides excellent guest service while making quality, hand-crafted beverages.
