Job summary

Hollywood Casino St. Louis is seeking a Casino Barback to deliver fast, friendly service to guests at the bar and throughout the casino.

You will assist bartenders, monitor alcohol service, and promote casino events while maintaining a high standard of guest relations. Requirements include being 21+, a high school diploma or equivalent, excellent communication and customer service skills, and the ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Read, write legibly, understand, and speak English.
• Excellent customer service/communication skills.
• Available to work required schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
• Must meet professional appearance standards as prescribed by company policy.
• Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues.
• Able to work in constricting areas.
• Able to tolerate second-hand smoke, noise, and bright lights.
• Able to work at a fast pace in often crowded/noisy environment.
• Physically mobile with ability to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide fast, friendly, professional service to casino guests, beverage servers, and bartenders.
• Monitor guest consumption of alcohol and intervene as needed within guidelines.
• Serve as ambassador of goodwill at work and in public relations functions.
• Promote casino events and programs.
• Provide personalized service and use guest name.
• Resolve service problems according to guidelines.
• Work well with others, especially beverage servers, bartenders, other barbacks, Supervisors.
• Maintain par levels of operating supplies and equipment for each bar.
• Arrange liquors, fruits, glassware, and supplies according to storage guidelines and safety procedures.
• Replace empty draught beer kegs as required.
• Slice and pit fruit; manage ice bins.
• Operate and maintain equipment per guidelines and safety procedures.
• Dispose of debris and maintain a clean work station.
• Maintain cleanliness of designated areas per health and safety standards.

Casino Barback

Pay: $8.15 per hour + tips (Avg. $100/shift) | Shift: Varies

• Provides fast, friendly, professional service to casino guests, beverage servers, and bartenders.
• Monitors guest consumption of alcohol and intervenes as needed according to guidelines.
• Serves as ambassador of goodwill while working and at customer and public relations functions.
• Promotes casino events and programs.
• Provides personalized service and uses guest name.
• Resolves service problems according to guidelines.
• Works well with others, especially beverage servers, bartenders, other barbacks, Beverage Supervisors, and Casino Supervisors.
• Maintains par levels of operating supplies and equipment for each bar, obtaining replacement stock from Warehouse inventory in accordance with procedure.
• Places liquors, fruits, glassware, linen, silverware, paper supplies, and sundries in their designated places following established storage guidelines and safety procedures.
• Replaces empty draught beer kegs as may be required.
• Slices and pits fruit; fills ice bins with crushed or cubed ice from designated ice machines.
• Operates and maintains all equipment and utensils as required in accordance with established guidelines and safety procedures.
• Removes and properly disposes of all debris accumulated at the bar in accordance with departmental procedures.
• Wipes counter areas, sinks, and floors as required to maintain a clean and safe work station.
• Maintains cleanliness of designated areas as directed in accordance with established health and safety standards.
