Job summary

The Barnett, a restored Art Deco hotel in New Orleans, seeks a friendly barista to serve high-quality coffee and beverages in a bustling outlet. You will take orders, process payments, and ensure a clean, welcoming station for guests while delivering consistent drinks and attentive service.

Additional duties include restocking, maintaining sanitation, and supporting opening/closing procedures in a dynamic hospitality setting near the French Quarter.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience as barista, café, or food service preferred.
• Hospitality or customer service experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, teas, smoothies, and other beverages.
• Take guest orders, process payments, and handle cash/point-of-sale transactions accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, barista station, and equipment.
• Restock ingredients, cups, utensils, pastries, and merchandise.
• Follow standard recipes and portion controls to ensure product consistency.
• Engage warmly with guests, answer questions, and offer recommendations.
• Monitor inventory levels and notify management of supply needs.
• Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and company standards.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
