Epicure Café in Houston's River Oaks area is hiring a Cashier/Barista to deliver excellent customer service and craft beverages in a fast-paced café setting.

You will handle transactions, prepare drinks, keep the area tidy, and ensure guest satisfaction through friendly, efficient service. Experience with Toast POS is a plus and flexible scheduling is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and bend.

Position Summary

A Cashier/Barista at Epicure Cafe will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service, preparing high-quality beverages, handling transactions accurately, and maintaining a clean and welcoming café environment. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and create a friendly, positive atmosphere.

Assist guests with menu selections, answer questions, and offer recommendations.

Handle customer concerns or complaints professionally and promptly.

Operate the cash register/POS system accurately.

Process cash, card, and digital payments.

Maintain an organized and clean checkout area.

Prepare and serve coffee, tea, espresso-based beverages, and specialty drinks following café recipes.

Operate espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and other equipment safely.

Maintain consistency in drink quality, taste, and presentation.

Restock and rotate coffee beans, syrups, milk, and other ingredients.

Follow food safety and hygiene standards.

Restock display cases and ensure items look fresh and appealing.

Keep the café tidy, including tables, counters, equipment, and floors.

Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth service flow.

Assist with inventory checks and restocking supplies.

Follow café policies, safety guidelines, and operational standards.
