Full or part-time roles are available; prior experience is not required, with on-the-job training provided. This position emphasizes accuracy, teamwork, and adherence to safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Salary Range: $13.00 - $15.00 Hourly

Job Purpose

As a Barista at Hugo's Lake of the Woods (& Caribou), you will be the face of our coffee service, providing exceptional customer experiences while preparing and serving high-quality beverages and food items. Your role is pivotal in ensuring customer satisfaction through efficient service, product knowledge, and adherence to health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them in a friendly and efficient manner.
• Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring a positive interaction.
• Prepare and serve beverages according to Caribou standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Prepare food items, including pastries and sandwiches, adhering to company recipes and presentation standards.
• Operate the point-of-sale system/register with accuracy, handling cash and card transactions securely.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee station and seating area, ensuring a welcoming environment.
• Conduct inventory checks and assist in stock management to ensure smooth operations.
• Adhere to food safety, sanitation, and health regulations to ensure a safe environment for customers and staff.
• Demonstrate product knowledge and make recommendations to enhance the customer experience.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and a cohesive work environment.

Qualifications

Required Education:

• High school diploma or GED
• Caribou provides on-the-job training

Preferred Education:

• Some post-secondary coursework in hospitality, food service, or customer service (optional)

Required Experience:

• No prior experience required

Preferred Experience:

• 1+ year of experience in food service, café, or customer-facing retail
• Experience with POS systems or cash handling
• Familiarity with coffee preparation and espresso machines
