Job summary

University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law seeks part-time hourly Writing Advisers to support the DU Bar Success Program, coaching bar takers, law students, and recent graduates as they prepare for bar exams.

This is an hourly, non-benefited position not to exceed 1,000 hours per calendar year, with an hourly rate of $80. Hours are flexible and may accommodate remote work. Compensation details and a good-faith range are provided by the university.

Qualifications

• JD or equivalent legal degree required.
• Licensed to practice law in any jurisdiction.
• Outstanding written and oral communications skills.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Prior experience in legal practice or academic support where high‑level legal writing and analysis were primary job functions.
• Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite (Track Changes and Comments in Word) and comfort navigating LMS such as Canvas.

Responsibilities

• Work with Program Director and Assistant Director to support goals.
• Coordinate with Team Leads to ensure timely, high‑quality feedback.
• Provide individualized feedback on answers submitted by graduates from mock bar exams and workshops.
