Job summary

Arlo Williamsburg is seeking a dynamic Bar Manager to oversee daily bar operations, ensure exceptional guest service, and drive revenue growth in a vibrant New York setting.

You will lead front-of-house staff, manage payroll and scheduling, and collaborate with Marketing to promote events and experiences while maintaining top beverage and service standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily bar operations, including front-of-house activities and guest experience.
• Ensure bar meets quality, service, beverage, and cleanliness standards.
• Manage beverage inventory, ordering, and cost control to meet budget goals.
• Responsible for payroll, including timekeeping review, labor management, and scheduling based on business needs.
• Create, maintain, and manage team schedules to ensure proper staffing levels and coverage.
• Partner with leadership to identify opportunities and implement processes to improve efficiency and service.
• Recruit, train, and develop staff including bartenders, servers, runners, hosts, and all FOH positions.
• Coordinate onboarding plans for new hires and ensure completion of onboarding steps.
• Own the new hire training experience with proper department training and ongoing support.
• Provide coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to build a knowledgeable team.
• Maintain a positive work environment that promotes cohesion and growth.
• Implement performance evaluations and address staff concerns promptly.
• Monitor adherence to SOPs, service standards, and training guidelines.
• Lead by example to deliver memorable guest experiences and foster hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

• Overseedaily bar operations, including all front-of-house activities and overall guest experience.
• Ensure the bar meets and exceeds quality, service, beverage, and cleanliness standards.
• Manage beverage inventory, ordering, and cost control to meet budgetary goals.
• Responsible for payroll, includingaccuratetimekeeping review, labor management, and scheduling based on business needs.
• Create,maintain, and manage team schedules to ensure proper staffing levels, operational coverage, and alignment with business demands.
• Partner with leadership toidentifyoperational opportunities and implement processes that improve efficiency and service.

Staff Leadership

• Recruit, train, and develop staff, including bartenders, servers, runners, hosts, and all FOH positions.
• Coordinate onboarding plans for new hires, ensuring team members complete all required onboarding steps prior tostarting intheir role.
• Own the new hire trainingexperience,byensuring team members receive proper department training, resources, and ongoing support needed to be successful.
• Provide consistent coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to build a knowledgeable and engaged team.
• Create andmaintaina positive work environment that encourages team cohesion, accountability, and professional growth.
• Implement performance evaluations and address any staff concerns promptly and effectively.
• Monitor adherence to SOPs, service standards, and training guidelines.

Customer Service

• Ensure high standards of customer service, addressing guest concerns and feedback with professionalism.
• Lead by example by creating memorable guest experiences and fostering a culture of hospitality within the team.
• Implement strategies to enhance the guest experience and encourage repeat business.

Financial Management

• Work with the Director of F&B to manage the bar’s budget, including forecasting and controlling expenses.
• Work with the Director of F&B to monitor financial performance, including sales, labor costs, beverage costs, and profitability.
• Analyze sales reports and implement strategies to drive revenue growth.

Marketing and Promotion

• Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute promotional activities, programming, and events.
• Build andmaintainrelationships with local businesses and community organizations to promote the bar and restaurant.

Compliance and Safety

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, beverage service requirements, and company policies.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure the bar operates within legal and company guidelines.
• Ensure team members are properly trained and consistently following all company policies, procedures, and service expectations.
