Title: Bar-back

About the role

Time Out Market is dedicated to bringing food and cultural experiences to life for our guests, readers, and clients. Our Market Bar-backs deliver outstanding guest service and products to ensure memorable visits.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide service to Bartenders, Beverage Runners, and Guests promptly.
2. Assist bartenders with guest orders and ensure proper service.
3. Appear in uniform and be punctual for all shifts.
4. Polish and wash glassware during shifts.
5. Prepare mixes and garnishes.
6. Ensure proper rotation of all liquor, beer, wine, and consumables.
7. Maintain cleanliness of bar top, back bar, and work area.
8. Clean spills, waste, and manage trash properly.
9. Set up and maintain event and banquet spaces.
10. Assist with loading/unloading equipment and supplies.
11. Complete stock requisitions and report shortages.
12. Maintain par levels of alcohol and consumables.
13. Report incidents, complaints, or safety hazards.
14. Build rapport with guests and respond courteously to inquiries.
15. Provide venue, menu, and pricing information.
16. Follow company procedures and standards.
17. Recognize and foster relationships with regular guests.
18. Circulate to maintain atmosphere control.
19. Report theft, vandalism, or violations.
20. Handle guest concerns professionally and promptly.
21. Monitor and report intoxicated or disruptive guests.
22. Adhere to safety, health, and liquor laws.
23. Complete nightly and weekly duties, report equipment failures.
