Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels is seeking a Director of Banquets to lead banquet operations for meetings, conferences, weddings, galas, and large events across our New Orleans properties. You will oversee service, setup, staffing, logistics, and guest experience, driving excellence and guest satisfaction.

We’re looking for a seasoned leader with 5+ years in banquet or large-scale event operations, capable of managing budgets, coordinating cross-functional teams, and delivering memorable guest

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Event Management, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive banquet, catering, F&B, hotel, or hospitality leadership experience preferred.
• Previous Director/Manager level experience in large-scale event operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead banquet operations for meetings, conferences, weddings, galas, and large events across the hotel.
• Oversee banquet service, setup, staffing, logistics, and guest experience standards.
• Recruit, train, coach, and develop banquet teams (Managers, Captains, Servers).
• Review BEOs, timelines, room setups, and staffing plans for flawless execution.
• Collaborate with Convention Services, Catering, Culinary, and hotel leadership to coordinate operations.
