Job summary

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts in New Orleans is seeking a Banquet Captain to supervise service operations for high-profile events in our downtown luxury hotel. You will lead banquet servers, bartenders, and other team members during events, coordinate with culinary and sales staff, and ensure flawless guest experiences.

The role requires prior banquet or catering experience, strong guest service and leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple events in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Strong guest service and communication skills required.
• Leadership experience in banquet, restaurant, catering, or event service.
• Ability to manage multiple events in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Knowledge of banquet service standards and event sequencing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise banquet and event service operations to ensure seamless execution and guest satisfaction.
• Lead, support, and direct banquet servers, bartenders, housepersons, and other team members during events.
• Review BEOs, floor plans, menus, timelines, and requirements before event execution.
• Ensure banquet rooms, service stations, buffets, bars, and setups meet hotel standards and client specs.
• Monitor service quality, timing, presentation, and guest satisfaction during events.
• Coordinate with Culinary, Stewarding, Convention Services, Sales, Engineering and operations for smooth execution.
