Job Description

The bartender will be responsible for guest service, preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages courteously and efficiently according to hotel standards. Maintain stock, supplies, and cleanliness of the Banquet bar and equipment.

Responsibilities:

1. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of service requirements for each event, including liquor brands, wine/champagne descriptions, pricing, glassware, ingredients, and guest details.
2. Comply with state liquor regulations, especially regarding minors, intoxication, and drunk driving.
3. Properly maintain and operate equipment; understand Silverware and manual systems.
4. Manage assigned bank, ensuring accuracy and security.
5. Complete opening duties: check stock, requisition supplies, set up bar, stock ice and glassware, prepare garnishes, and be ready 15 minutes before service.
6. Greet guests, take orders using suggestive selling, input orders, and serve drinks following standards.
7. Handle wine/champagne service, payments, and guest inquiries professionally.
8. Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the bar area.
9. Monitor supplies, replenish as needed, and communicate shortages.
10. Adhere to cash handling policies, document transactions, and ensure proper storage of reusable items.
11. Complete closing duties: clean bar, secure liquor, and perform walk-throughs.
12. Finalize reports, count bank, and maintain organizational standards.
13. Complete training/certification successfully.

Secondary Functions:

• Assist with inventories, maintenance, and other bar areas as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 21 years old to serve alcohol.
• Minimum 2 years experience as a bartender or bar back.
• Food handling certification required.
• Proficient in English communication, both verbal and written.
• Basic math skills required.
