Kona Kai San Diego Resort is a boutique urban resort located on Shelter Island, featuring 170 guestrooms, Vessel Restaurant + Bar, SpaTerre, a marina, and a private club, just minutes from downtown San Diego. We are seeking a new Bartender to join our island-inspired resort, someone eager to be part of the Kona Kai culture, to stay and serve with purpose. Enjoy peaceful waterfront views at our friendly full-service hotel surrounded by lush tropical gardens and calm waters.

This role reports to: F&B Manager, Restaurant General Manager & Executive Chef

Requirements

YOU:

As a Bartender at Vessel Restaurant + Bar, you'll be central to our guest experience—serving refreshing drinks with speed, skill, and a smile. Your responsibilities include crafting cocktails, managing bar orders, maintaining a clean and inviting space, and providing exceptional service.

Qualifications:

1. Previous bartending experience required.
2. Valid TIPS / Food Handlers Certification & California RBS Certification.
3. Knowledge of food and beverage menu items and guest engagement.
4. Respond promptly to guest needs and requests.
5. Positive, upbeat personality, team player, eager to learn, able to multi-task.
6. Flexible schedule with variable hours.
7. Attention to detail.
8. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
9. Outdoor work possible during summer at poolside bars overlooking the Marina.
10. Passion for customer service, pride in craft, and a purpose to excel.
