Job summary

Mauna Kea Resort in Waimea, Hawaii is seeking a Steward to perform general cleaning and assist the culinary team during events. The role involves transferring china, glassware, and silverware to banquet areas, setting up and breaking down buffet lines, and supporting kitchen operations.

The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long shifts, and follow safety procedures. TB clearance is required; Food Safety certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• No degree required; ability to perform cleaning and unskilled tasks.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must have Dept of Health TB Clearance; Food Safety Certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning and transfer food, china, glassware, and silverware to banquet area.
• Assist culinary in transporting food and supplies to function area, and set up/break down buffet lines.
• Operate dishwashing equipment and store tableware securely; clean floors and kitchen surfaces.
• Report equipment needs repair and maintain cleanliness of kitchen, dining, and function spaces.
