Job summary

The Founders Inn & Spa, Tapestry Collection by Hilton is seeking a Banquet Setup Supervisor in Virginia Beach, VA. You will lead the banquet setup team, oversee weddings, banquets, meetings, and events, and ensure spaces are prepared to Hilton standards.

You will coordinate with Banquet Management, Catering Sales, and Convention Services, hire and coach staff, and maintain safety, quality, and timely execution for all events. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in banquet operations, event setup, hospitality, or related field.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
• Knowledge of banquet room configurations, event setup standards, and BEOs.
• Ability to coordinate multiple events and manage changing priorities.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead by Example: Supervise, train, motivate, and support the banquet setup team to ensure efficient daily operations.
• Create Exceptional Event Spaces: Oversee setup and breakdown of weddings, banquets, meetings, conferences, and special events according to BEOs and hotel standards.
• Ensure Every Detail Is Right: Inspect event spaces for cleanliness, accuracy, presentation, and readiness before guests arrive.
• Coordinate Daily Operations: Prepare work assignments, delegate responsibilities, and manage setup schedules.
• Collaborate Across Departments: Partner with Banquet Management, Catering Sales, Convention Services, and Stewarding.
• Maintain Operational Excellence: Monitor equipment, furniture, linens, supplies, and storage areas.
• Develop Your Team: Coaching, feedback, and accountability while promoting teamwork.
• Solve Problems Proactively: Anticipate challenges and manage last-minute changes.
• Promote Safety and Quality: Ensure proper handling of equipment and safety procedures.
• Support the Team: Involved in event setup, breakdown, and cleaning as needed.
