Job summary

Loews Chicago O'Hare is seeking a proactive Banquet Houseperson to ensure flawless event spaces and guest experiences. You will set up, arrange, and break down rooms, and keep areas organized and safe for weddings, meetings and social functions.

In this fast-paced role, you’ll work with banquet leaders and event teams to execute flawless layouts, handle last-minute changes, and support departments such as kitchen, AV and housekeeping, ensuring high-quality service in a premium hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a mid-high-volume banquet or upscale hotel/restaurant preferred.
• Ability to stand, walk, reach, stoop, bend and lift 100+ pounds repeatedly.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Execute room setups and breakdowns per BEOs, including tables, chairs, staging, and decor.
• Ensure furniture and equipment are placed safely for weddings, meetings, and events.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in banquet and storage areas for readiness.
• Perform regular inspections to ensure quality and readiness during events.
• Assist with light maintenance of banquet equipment and report issues to leadership.
• Respond to guest and team requests during events, including last-minute layout changes.
• Monitor and restock banquet supplies and communicate inventory needs to leadership.
• Collaborate with banquet captains, servers, and other departments to ensure seamless event execution.
• Uphold safety standards and maintain a professional guest-ready environment.
• Regular attendance and willingness to work varying schedules.
• Attend all mandatory trainings and meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
