Job summary

Loews Kansas City Hotel is seeking a proactive Banquet Houseperson to support events in a fast-paced hotel setting. You will execute room setups and breakdowns, ensuring tables, chairs, staging and decor are arranged precisely for weddings, corporate galas and other functions.

Collaborate with banquet captains, servers and departments to deliver flawless events while maintaining clean, ready spaces. This role demands physical stamina, keen attention to detail, and a Can-do attitude in a dynamic

Qualifications

• One year experience in a mid-high-volume banquet and/or restaurant within an upscale hotel or restaurant preferred.
• Ability to stand, walk, reach, stoop, bend and lift/pull/push 100+ pounds repetitively.
• Ability to move portable furniture/equipment from storage to function rooms
• Flexibility to work varying shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Execute room setups and breakdowns based on BEOs (tables, chairs, staging, decor).
• Ensure furniture and equipment are placed safely for events (weddings, meetings, socials).
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in banquet/storage areas for future events.
• Perform inspections before/during/after functions to ensure quality and readiness.
• Assist with light maintenance of banquet equipment and report issues to leadership.
• Respond to guest and team requests during events, including last-minute layout changes.
• Monitor and restock banquet supplies and communicate inventory needs to leadership.
• Collaborate with banquet captains, servers and other departments for seamless execution.
• Uphold safety standards and maintain a guest-ready environment.
• Regular attendance and varying shifts may be required.
• Attend mandatory training sessions and meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
