Job summary

Moody Gardens in Galveston, TX seeks a friendly Banquet Server to set up banquet rooms, greet guests, and serve food and beverages to high standards. You will maintain course service, replenish drinks, bus dishes, and reset rooms between functions, while performing side work and general cleaning per health requirements.

The role requires hospitality experience, reliable dependability, and the ability to obtain required certifications (TABC, Food Handlers). Prior CPR/First Aid is a plus.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Set up banquet room with linen, service ware, and glassware.
• Attend roll call meetings before events to learn function details.
• Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly, courteous manner.
• Serve the food and beverages to meet the Banquet Captain's expectations.
• Bus dishes promptly and replenish beverages as guests finish courses.
• Reset banquet room after function according to Captain's specs for the next event.
• Sell tickets for bar drinks.
• Perform side work and restock banquet supplies.
• Complete general cleaning tasks per health standards.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

JOB SUMMARY:The Banquet Server will set up Banquet Rooms and serve food and beverage in a friendly, courteous and professional manner according to Moody Gardens’ high standards of quality.POSITION AUTHORITY:The incumbent is authorized to take reasonable action necessary to carry out assigned duties and responsibilities, provided such action is consistent with position guidelines as outlined below.POSITION GUIDELINES:Position guidelines include, but are not limited to, established company and department policies and procedures and all supervisory directives.
