Responsibilities
The Banquet Server is responsible for serving all banquet-related Food & Beverage operations.
Responsibilities include:
- Reading and interpreting Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and following instructions from the Banquets Manager and/or Captain
- Setting up banquet rooms as instructed, including table and chair placement, linens, service ware, and glassware
- Preparing for functions, including table settings, condiments, beverages, etc.
- Greeting guests and responding to requests courteously
- Replenishing beverages and checking guest satisfaction
- Performing cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products to meet health standards
- Participating in pre-meal and post-meal briefings
- Serving food and beverages according to the Banquet Captain's instructions to ensure consistency
- Bus dishes promptly as guests complete each course or at the end of the meal
- Cleaning up after the function, including clearing dishes, re-organizing back areas, and storing equipment properly
- Resetting the banquet room for subsequent events as specified
- Completing additional tasks for future banquet events as directed
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Excellent communication, guest service, and time management skills
- Ability to organize, plan ahead, and manage workload effectively
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment
- Positive, professional, and upbeat personality with a desire to deliver outstanding customer service
- Dependability and energy
- Previous serving experience is preferred but not required
- Bartending experience is beneficial
- Audio-Visual experience is beneficial
- Flexibility regarding scheduling based on business needs
Physical Requirements:
- Constant standing and walking; frequent bending, squatting, handling, and grasping
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs; pushing and pulling an average of 97 lbs
- Must pass a job-specific physical exam prior to employment
