Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is currently searching for a remarkable Banquet Server for the Hilton Harrisburg in Harrisburg, PA.

Job Purpose: Service, set-up, and break down assigned functions in a safe, accident-free manner. Warm, knowledgeable service and helpful guidance reassure guests they’ve made the right choice to stay with us.

  • Must have a clean and wrinkle-free uniform, Name Tag, and either white or black undergarment under banquet uniform and black non-slip shoes. Adhere to grooming and appearance standards.
  • Must be able to read BEOs and know all the equipment necessary to complete the set up for each function.
  • Set tables in assigned area correctly and uniformly with proper equipment.
  • Set up buffets with food presentation and table prep before the event begins.
  • Keep buffet stations neat and clean while servicing guests per established policies and procedures.
  • Use proper in-room clearing and aisle tray breakdown buffet or other special food service tables and equipment.
  • Assist Banquet Captain in setting up/breaking down buffet or other special food service tables and equipment.
  • Greet and serve guests following guidelines set by the policies/procedures regarding the service of food and beverage.
  • Complete assigned paperwork per event or function.
  • Complete all side work during and after events.
  • During events, organize and stock all products used or help prepare for next day’s events during downtime.
  • Return and wipe down all equipment used, keeping banquet areas neat.
  • Dispose of buffet food that has been served properly.
  • Address leftover untouched food in the hot box or coolers with Chefs before the event ends.
  • Label, date, and store saved food properly.
  • Return and store equipment properly in designated areas.
  • Maintain neat and clean banquet areas, ready for the next day.

Qualifications and Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent. Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham, or Hyatt processes and standards.

This Job Requires The Ability To Perform The Following:

  • Thorough knowledge of catering and food service work.
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures, with the ability to determine appropriate actions.
  • Supervision/management skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Moderate hearing and vision to perform tasks effectively.
  • Moderate speech communication skills.
  • Moderate reading and comprehension skills.
  • Physical ability to lift, push, pull, carry items, and perform bending as needed.
  • Mobility to travel throughout the venue.
  • Standing for periods during preparation or plate-up.

Other Skills and Qualities: Passion for service, strong communication, reading and writing skills, basic math, problem-solving, reasoning, motivation, and training abilities. Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
