Job summary

BlueStar Resort & Golf in Brentwood, CA is seeking a Banquet Server to deliver attentive food and beverage service in banquet settings and outdoor events. You will greet guests, explain menus, and coordinate with kitchen and bar to ensure timely, high-quality service.

The role requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends, a customer-first mindset, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced resort environment. Training and support are provided by the Banquet Captain.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1–3 months’ related server experience preferred.
• Must meet state and federal minimum age requirement for serving alcohol, if applicable.
• Current Food Handlers Card and TIPS® Certification.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide; must be able to calculate discounts, and percentages.
• Ability to communicate positively and effectively with team members about job tasks and responsibilities.
• Desire to contribute to a productive work environment by maintaining a positive attitude with team members and the public.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memorandums.
• Ability to speak effectively and present information to guests and team members.
• Flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Set up the banquet room for events when requested.
• Greet and serve guests in an energetic and friendly fashion.
• Explain the menu and resort services to guests with enthusiasm.
• Write and relay orders to the kitchen and bar as appropriate.
• Understand event setup, learn table numbers and stations.
• Serve and clear food and beverages following etiquette.
• Carry trays of dirty dishes to the kitchen.
• Assist with hors d’oeuvres prior to meals when requested.
• Maintain communication with guests to ensure needs are met.
• Work as a team and follow direction from the Banquet Captain.
