Job summary

BlueStar Resort & Golf in Brentwood, CA seeks a Banquet Chef to oversee daily kitchen operations, lead a culinary team, and drive menu execution for events. You will manage food safety, cost controls, and collaboration with the Banquet Manager to meet guest expectations.

The role requires strong leadership, budget management, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment with evenings and weekends required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Two years’ experience in banquet/kitchen supervision or equivalent.
• ACF certification preferred; strong budgeting and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan menus, create food purchase orders, ensure safety and quality.
• Control food costs and manage budget to meet P&L targets.
• Collaborate with Banquet Manager on guest counts and timing.
• Direct kitchen staff, supervise prep, and ensure consistent execution.
• Respond to customer concerns and maintain guest relations.
• Lead by example, promote safety, teamwork, and professional growth.
• Maintain recipes and cost sheets; oversee equipment and methods.
