Job description

Banquet Server

We are looking for a highly motivated Banquet Server to join our team! This individual will help to set up and prepare banquet rooms for functions, serve and bus tables, and clear and tear down banquet rooms at the end of the event.

Responsibilities

• Set up for functions, including draping tables, setting silverware, folding napkins, preparing drinks, and placing table centerpieces.
• Serve guests by picking up food from the back hall, carrying trays, serving food, and clearing the food from tables.
• Break down areas by bussing tables, putting away dirty linens and centerpieces, vacuuming, and cleaning back hall and storerooms.
• Set up AM or PM break stations with coffee, tea, snacks, and beverages.
• Assist with event room setup according to meal period and table needs.
• Perform food & beverage preparation duties, such as preparing condiments, brewing coffee, and ensuring workstations are stocked.
• Clean and sanitize tables, counters, and seats after guests finish.
• Explain menu items, cooking methods, and ingredients to guests, and consider special requests or dietary issues.
• Provide general property information, offer a warm welcome and farewell to all guests, and interact professionally with staff.
• Ensure final quality checks on food and beverage items prior to serving guests.
• Monitor assigned tables for customer satisfaction, quality, and additional service.
• Address any guest issues promptly and with high concern.
• Assist other event and restaurant staff as needed.
• Maintain constant awareness of safety issues, such as broken glass, frayed cords, leaks, broken locks, and suspicious persons.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of food service experience, preferably in banquet service.
• Experience in a 4-star or 5-star venue with synchronized service.
• Knowledge of wine, beer, cocktails, and spirits.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests.
• Excellent communication skills.
