Job summary

The Lodge at Schroon Lake in Schroon Lake, NY is seeking a friendly Banquet Server to provide exceptional guest service at events and functions. You will assist with setup, take orders, serve meals, and ensure a memorable dining experience while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hospitality.

Pay rate is $16.00 per hour, plus gratuity. This role emphasizes teamwork, wellness of staff, and a supportive, family-like environment under Olympia Hospitality’s values.

Qualifications

• Legal age to serve alcohol per state law.
• Serving or setup experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with setup of banquet rooms and event spaces according to event specifications.
• Ensure equipment, utensils, and silverware are clean and arranged; audiovisual equipment and lighting set up.
• Greet guests and escort to tables, assist with seating as needed.
• Take food and beverage orders and promote upgrades.
• Serve food and drinks promptly following service standards.
• Anticipate guests' needs and provide personalized service.
• Respond to guest inquiries and resolve complaints with empathy.
• Clear tables and replenish supplies during events.
• Assist with event breakdown, cleanup, and post-event sanitation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the setup of banquet rooms and event spaces, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, place settings, and decorations according to event specifications.
• Ensure that all necessary equipment, utensils, and silverware are clean, polished, and properly arranged, and that audiovisual equipment and lighting are set up and operational.
• Greet guests warmly upon arrival, escort them to their assigned tables, and provide assistance with seating as needed.
• Take food and beverage orders from guests, using suggestive selling techniques to promote additional items or upgrades.
• Serve food and beverages to guests promptly and accurately, following established service standards and presentation guidelines.
• Anticipate guests' needs and preferences and provide personalized service and attention to ensure a memorable and enjoyable dining experience.
• Respond promptly and courteously to guest inquiries, requests, and concerns, and resolve any issues or complaints with empathy and professionalism.
• Clear tables, remove used dishes and utensils, and replenish supplies as needed throughout the event to ensure a clean and orderly dining environment.
• Assist with event breakdown and cleanup tasks, including removing linens, folding chairs, and dismantling decorations.
• Complete post-event cleaning and sanitation procedures to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in banquet areas.

Skills Required

• Provide high-level customer service, communicate effectively with guests and team members, follow instructions, ability to learn quickly, pay attention to detail, and maintain composure when working under pressure.

Experience / Education

• Serving and or set up experience preferred; must be of legal age in order to serve alcohol, per state law.
