Job summary

The Classic Club in Palm Desert, CA is seeking a Banquet Server for a seasonal role. This position involves serving banquet guests in a fast-paced, hotel-like setting, ensuring prompt and courteous service, and maintaining high hygiene and safety standards.

Varies with the event schedule and requires strong teamwork. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and 1–3 months of related experience.

  • Prepares function sites and ensures meeting rooms are set according to specifications.
  • Serves food and beverage items to guests promptly and courteously.
  • Sets dining tables, buffets, and service areas per Banquet Event Order or as directed.
  • Attends pre-shift meetings and communicates special requests to the manager.
  • Maintains clean banquet and kitchen areas and assists in inventory control.
  • Ensures guests are provided with excellent customer service by anticipating needs.

The Classic Club, located in Palm Desert, CA, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Banquet Server! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you'll contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

Pay Range:

$16.90 to $18.00 per hour (Depending on Experience)

General Purpose:

Serves banquet function guests food and beverage items in a prompt, professional and courteous manner while creating memorable experiences . This is a seasonal position with an expected duration of six months or less.

Essential Duties:
  • Prepares function site s and assures meeting rooms are set according to specifications.
  • Serves food and beverage items to guests based on established guidelines.
  • Sets dining tables, buffets, and other service areas according to Banquet Event Order or as directed.
  • Attends and actively participates in pre-shift meetings .
  • Communicates special requests and concerns to the department manager.
  • Helps to maintain clean banquet and kitchen areas .
  • Oversees all equipment with care.
  • Assists in inventory control and monitoring waste in the banquet or catering area.
  • Ensures the guests are provided with excellent customer service by anticipating their needs before they arise.
  • Incorporates safe and sanitary work practices throughout job performance.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Maintains exceptional personal hygiene and positive representation of the organization to employees, clients and vendors.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and training .
Physical Demands:
  • Frequently stands and walks; uses hands; reaches with arms and hands; stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches; talks or hears.
  • Occasionally sits; climbs or balances.
  • Frequently lifts up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions.
  • Noise level is moderate.
Certificates/Licenses:
  • ServSafe Certified (Food & Alcohol) or TIPS equivalent.
Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:
  • Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
  • Meets state age requirements for handling alcoholic beverages.
  • Works well under pressure .
  • Maintains a patient, considerate approach .
