Overview

The Banquet Server is responsible for setting up and serving food and beverages at banquet functions according to hotel standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform preparatory tasks and side work to ensure prompt and efficient service.
• Read Banquet Event Orders (BEO) and familiarize with menu items for assigned functions.
• Serve guests in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner according to hotel standards.
• Respond to guest concerns, complaints, and accidents, communicating with management when necessary.
• Set all tables according to hotel standards.
• Maintain a neat banquet storeroom, stocked with necessary supplies.
• Clean up banquet space after functions and properly store and restock equipment and supplies.
• Prepare rooms according to BEO and meal functions.
• Follow money handling procedures during service.
• Know menu items and provide accurate descriptions.
• Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred; hotel or related experience is a plus.
• Flexibility for long hours.
• Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and 20 pounds frequently.
• Ability to stand throughout the shift.
• Effective listening, understanding, and clarification skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
