Job summary

Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel is seeking a professional server to deliver exemplary service to guests according to Omni standards. You will greet guests, set tables for events, and collaboratively support the culinary team to ensure a seamless dining experience.

You will be responsible for wine, spirits, and beer knowledge, upselling items, cash handling, and processing payments in MICROS. The role requires clear English communication, a positive attitude, and the ability to work varied shifts,

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year serving experience.
• Must acquire TIPS and ServSafe certifications.
• Developed knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer with experience selling and presenting wines.
• Previous cash handling experience required.
• Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management and co-workers.
• Ability to accurately and efficiently input information into MICROS.
• Ability to handle stressful situations, while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor.
• Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department.
• Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up on guest requests and needs in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent customer service, service recovery and problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and provide courteous service according to Omni standards.
• Set tables according to event type and service standards as directed by leadership.
• Suggestively sell menu items and answer questions on food and beverage selections.
• Communicate with culinary team regarding meal requirements, allergies, and special requests.
• Record transactions in MICROS and manage cash handling
• Ensure satisfaction with each course and process payments accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and station setup/breakdown.
• Be pleasant, greet guests using surnames when obtainable.
