Job summary

MGM Resorts International is seeking a Banquet Manager to lead all aspects of banquet and event operations, including staffing, scheduling, payroll, inventory and service standards. You will ensure flawless execution of meetings, conventions, and large events while working with Catering Managers and Supervisors to maintain exceptional service.

The role requires at least 21 years of age, a high school diploma or GED, and 2+ years in a senior banquet/convention setting.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must have two (2) years of prior relevant experience recently within a large convention center or banquet operation holding a position of at least a department assistant manager or director.
• Prior experience in banquet services with a solid background in event setup and operational execution (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Manages assigned operational functions within the department as per strategic plan.
• Oversees operations of cash concessions and snack bars on the tradeshow floor.
• Collaborates with Catering Manager on servicing of events and preplanning for upcoming Groups.
• Leads staffing decisions with Banquet Supervisors and Assistant Managers and ensures policy compliance.
• Reviews Banquet Event Orders and inventories consumables and some equipment.
• Ensures guest service delivery aligns with MGM core standards and brand attributes.
• Contributes to research, development, and implementation of new products and processes.
• Conducts ongoing training and safety with staff and maintains a positive work environment.

Education

High school diploma or GED

2 years of relevant banquet/convention center experience (dept assistant manager or director level)
