Job summary

PeopleAnswers, Inc. is seeking a Banquet Captain in Temecula to supervise and execute events in meeting rooms and social functions, ensuring seamless service across conventions and weddings.

The role requires leading servers, coordinating with departments, managing inventories, and training staff to uphold department standards. You will act as manager when the Banquet Manager is absent and will oversee staffing and guest satisfaction at a high-volume level.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Strong math skills including rate, ratio and percent calculations.
• Proficient computer skills; able to use Word, Excel, Outlook and POS systems.
• Experience with high-volume banquets and food & beverage operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise multiple functions taking place simultaneously and ensure seamless service.
• Input all checks and consumptions into the OPERA system.
• Coordinate setup details with departments to meet timelines and standards.
• Train and mentor all Banquet Servers and team members to established standards.
• Maintain par levels of food and beverage not handled by kitchens.
• Keep coffee rooms and storage areas clean and organized.
• Engage guests to ensure expectations are met and address concerns.
• Prepare and review staffing needs for each event; step in as acting manager when needed.
