Job summary

South Coast Winery Resort & Spa is seeking an experienced Banquet Captain. The ideal candidate must be able to work weekends and evenings; fast-paced resort experience is a plus.

Essential duties include greeting guests, coordinating with the event host, maintaining logs and BEOs, ensuring proper setup, supervising banquet staff, and ensuring timely, courteous service. Adherence to hotel standards and strong leadership are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in banquet operations preferred.
• Ability to work weekends and evenings.
• Strong guest service and communication skills.
• Ability to supervise staff and coordinate with kitchens.

Responsibilities

• Meet and greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
• Coordinate with the event host on all aspects of the banquet function.
• Plan and organize duties for the banquet department including logs, function sheets and BEOs.
• Ensure banquet rooms and areas are clean, set up properly and stocked for functions.
• Oversee banquet function activities and ensure timely service of food and beverages.
• Respond promptly to guest requests and maintain high service standards.
• Lead the banquet team and train staff for setup, service and breakdown of banquets.
