Job summary

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Banquet Manager to assist with supervision, coordination, training and direction of all staff for the Banquet Department. You will ensure service excellence, proper setup, and on-time execution of functions.

You will inspect buffets, manage servers, and coordinate with the host for last-minute details while maintaining standards and safety. A 4+ year hotel background and supervisory experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field.
• High School diploma preferred.
• Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.
• Long hours sometimes may be required.
• Medium work – exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 20 pounds of force frequency or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
• Must convey information and ideas clearly.
• Must evaluate and select among alternate courses of action quickly and accurately.
• Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
• Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
• Must be able to assimilate complex information from disparate sources.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervision, coordination, training and direction of all personnel for the Banquet Department.
• Inspect rooms and set ups to ensure each detail is correct.
• Supervise table settings, service staff and post-function cleanup.
• Coordinate with host and function manager for last-minute details.
• Write and post work schedules and assist with departmental administrative duties.
